(5th May 2018, Hong Kong) “Hong Kong’s Role in the Belt and Road Strategic Development Plan of the Motherland” Seminar”The Seminar”being held in Unit 204, 2/F, HKUSPACE, Admiralty Centre, 18 Harcourt Road, Hong Kong on 5th May, 2018. The Seminar is Co-organised by The International Institute of Management (IIM) (國際專業管理學會), The Chinese Manufacturer’s Association of Hong Kong (香港中華廠商聯合會) and The Chinese Turkish Economic and Cultural Exchange Association (中土經濟及文化交流協會).  The seminar is also established through a close communication, coordination and liaison between different parties. We are pleased that the seminar has received positive support from different parties including the Science and Technology Department, Liaison office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong (中聯辦教科部), Hong Kong Commerce and Economic Development Bureau (香港商務及經濟發展局), HKTDC (香港貿發局), The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (香港科技大學), The Open University of Hong Kong (香港公開大學), HKUSPACE (香港大學專業進修學院),New Century Forum(新世紀論壇), Dashun Foundation (大舜基金),  Turkish Airlines (土耳其航空), Evershine Group Holdings Limited  (永耀集團控股有限公司)and Aurum Pacific (China) Group Limited (奧栢中國集團控股有限公司). All parties have been exploring concrete schedules and plans to organize this open seminar in promoting connectivity and contributing to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative. Over 100 professionals and experts attended the seminar.

The main purpose of the seminar is to explore the vast opportunities created by the National strategy of “Belt & Road Initiative” , and also to further pursue the excellent views  from  various professional groups, scholars and  business groups in exploring the best positions Hong Kong could gainfully exploit in the Initiative. The Seminar has also introduced the role of Turkey in the Belt and Road Initiative and the opportunities in the country, as well as promoting the exchange, cooperation and development of culture and trade between Turkey and China, in order to strengthen ties with Turkish, Chinese and Hong Kong organizations to exchange cultural and commercial information and experiences.

In addition, The Seminar announced a Turkish Culture and Investment delegation from Hong Kong will be launched in June this year. The delegation will visit Istanbul, Bodrum and Ankara in Turkey to meet with Turkish Government representatives and local enterprises, including the Energy and Natural Resources Department, the Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Department, Ali Agaoglu (one of Turkey’s largest real estate developers), Dogus Group (one of the top three largest private-sector conglomerates in Turkey) and Akfen Holding (one of Turkey’s top infrastructure investment holdings enterprises). The excursion will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to gain a first-hand appreciation of the enormous development potential in Turkey. To support the delegation activity, two of the corporate members of the Association, Aurum Pacific (China) Group Limited (奧栢中國集團控股有限公司)(HKG: 8148) and Evershine Group Holdings Limited (永耀集團控股有限公司)(HKG: 8022) have sponsored HKD200,000 to the Association respectively, and presented cheques during the Seminar.
